Give Your Audience Something Interesting to Read
If your visitors have nothing interesting to look at, your stay at home job site will soon wither and die. If
you don't know how to find good quality content for you site, this essay will teach you how. Read on...
A website without content is about as interesting as watching a television test pattern. Unfortunately, there are
a lot of sites on the net today, that offer nothing but banners, links, and the same old rehash of boring sales letters
and useless garbage. They lack content. More specifically, they lack useful and interesting content.
The main reason people use the Internet, is to search for information. So, if your site has no information on
it, there is no reason for anyone to visit. Without useful and interesting articles, your site will not be viable and you
will never make a sale. This essay will give you some ideas on how to find interesting and relevant content for your
website. By doing a bit of research and putting pen to paper, you can easily fill your website with tons of fascinating stuff
that will keep folks entertained and coming back for more.
There are several sources of content available on the net today. You might have to pay for some articles, but
there are many sites that offer free content for you to use. All that is required to use the free stuff is that you add the
author's byline and site information at the end of the article. You can also write your own articles to use as content.
Paid
Articles
By using a search engine, you can find many professional copywriters. Copywriters specialize in writing articles
to order. A Webmaster can then purchase the article, add their own byline at the end, and use it for content.
The advantage to using this type of article is that not only can you use it as content on your page, you
can also submit it as content to other sites. Your link in the byline will provide a route back to your page to anyone who
reads the article in an E-zine or on another Website.
The disadvantage is the cost that you pay for the writing. Using a copy written article is best used when you want
to sell a product, and need a well-written sales letter.
Free Content
Again, by using
a search engine, you will be able to find several websites, which offer free content for webmasters to use on their sites.
Free articles also have advantages and disadvantages. The advantages include; abundance and a wide variety of different subjects.
Many are well written, so if writing is not your particular forte, free articles provide the answer.
The disadvantages include the fact that since they are free, it will be difficult to find relevant content which
is exclusive or unique. Many other websites will be using the same articles. This makes it harder to get a good ranking from
the search engines. You must include the author's byline with a link to their site in the article. This has the effect of
providing your visitors with a vast number of exits from your page. If they are busy looking at someone else's page, they
wont be looking at yours.
Become an Author
One of the best sources of content for your website is your own pen. By writing your own articles, you will enjoy
the advantages of both the professional copy written articles and the free articles. First, your writings will be unique.
Search engines love unique content. You will be able to optimize your site by using your keywords throughout the articles.
Your articles will also become valuable, as other webmasters and E-zine publishers use them as content. When your
site is still young and unranked, articles published in E-zines will be one of your best sources of visitors.
The disadvantage to writing articles includes the fact that writing is a time consuming process. If you didn't do
well in your high school English class, or English is not your native tongue, you might have significant problems with grammar.
Let's face it, the only thing worse than not having enough good content, is having poorly written content.
Make sure that you take the time to proof read your work. A trick that works well is to read an article backwards.
You will have a better chance of finding misspelled words and grammatical errors this way. You can also impose on friends
and family to proof read your work. A second set of eyes never hurts, and you might get some useful insight. Also, don't overlook
your spell checker. It will find most of the common misspellings, and help you to correct punctuation errors.
Other Sources of Content
One of the best sources of fresh content is a subscription to an article announcement groups.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/netwrite-publish-announce
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Free-Reprint-Articles
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ReadMyArticles
These are mailing lists where authors post the new articles when they need publicity. You get fresh content, and
the author benefits by having you publish their name and link at the bottom of the article. It is a win - win situation.
The only draw back to subscribing to one of these services is that Your Email will be flooded with hundreds
of emails each day. If you choose to use an announcement group, it is best to have a separate E-mail account just for handling
the large volume of messages that you can expect.
As you can see, there are plenty of sources of content for your website. Regardless of whether you buy articles,
search for free stuff, or write your own, you can easily and quickly fill your site with valuable and interesting content.
Your visitors will have plenty of reasons to visit, and your chances of making a sale will be greatly improved.
